NEW Older Camper Activities!!!

Illahee is the perfect place for girls of all ages. Whether it’s your first step on our beautiful campus or your thousandth, “you are an Illahee Girl!”

However, during our three- and four-week sessions, we’re excited to introduce several activities exclusively open to our oldest campers, rising 8th grade and above! We’re stoked to expand our activities and trips for girls in this specific age group as they explore the type of leader, friend, and person they want to be.

Trips Mountain Biking

Mountain biking was a hit this past year! We love our trails around camp, but we also know that Illahee is 20 minutes away from some of the nation’s premier mountain biking. Older campers can sign up to spend periods 1-3 out on a trail, enjoying the challenge and thrill of Dupont, Pisgah, and more!

Fishing

Give a camper a fish; feed them for a day. Teach a camper to fish, and they might discover a new favorite hobby! We are excited to offer fishing as an activity this summer. Campers will learn how to set up their tackle box, cast, and hopefully catch a few fish in our ponds at camp and maybe even on the French Broad River and other bodies of water not far away! We’re hoping to offer both fly and reel fishing for summer 2025!

Book Club

Who doesn’t love to read in an eno? We know our older campers can have an extensive summer reading list, so we want to give them a period to hang out, read with friends, and relax around camp!

Triathlon

This past year, we introduced the first-ever Illahee Biathlon. For 2025, we are excited to bring out the Illahee Triathlon. Campers will be able to train in running, swimming, and biking throughout the session, hoping to bring home the Gold at the end of the June or July session!

CIT and SPARK Mystery Overnight Adventure…

Our CITs and Sparks are getting a new adventure this year. Hush, hush—it’s a secret. All we have to say is that they will spend the night away from camp, and no, we’re not going to the farm.
